“Paper Boat” is set in the creek of the Hans Christian Andersen Garden. The sculpture was purchased in 1984 by Odense City Arts Foundation as part of a sculpture exhibition in Eventyrhaven.
The boat leads viewers to think of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”, specifically the part where the tin soldier is put in a paper boat in the gutter by two boys.
