Hans Christian Andersen lived from June 27th to August 24th 1848 on Amaliegade 141 in Sorø, now No. 37, in two rooms with his friend, Lieutenant Commander Christian Wulff. In the period before and after, Andersen travelled around and visited several manors.
Store Kongensgade 1847
Hans Christian Andersen moved into Store Kongensgade 49 on October 1st 1847 and moved out on May 11th 1848. The property was too low and was therefore demolished in 1934, it stood at the corner of Store Kongensgade and Dr. Tværgade. Hans Christian Andersen had two rooms on the second floor.

Store Kongensgade 1828
Hans Christian Andersen moved to Store Kongensgade 33, 3rd floor with Mrs Charlotte Schroeder in 1828. The house was later demolished in 1904. The philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Schelling had stayed here during a visit to Copenhagen and even slept in the bed as Hans Christian Andersen.
Vingaardsstræde 1827
Hans Christian Andersen was accommodated in the attic of Vingårdsstræde 132 with landlady Mrs Schwartz after the removal of Meisling School in Elsinore in 1827.
Dybensgade 1822
Hans Christian Andersen moved with Mrs Henckel to Dybensgade 167 (later No. 20, on the corner of Nikolajsgade) in 1822.
