Hans Christian Andersen moved into Nyhavn 280, now No. 20, on the Charlottenborg side in 1834. His hostess was a skipper’s widow with four children, Karen Sofie Larsen. Hans Christian Andersen lived on the 2nd floor with two rooms, one for the street and one for the courtyard.
