H. C. Andersen went on his first real summer holiday in 1829, where he visited Møn island and Liselund. He had just had his vaudeville, “Fodreise far Holmens Canal” published, and it was performed at the Royal Theatre. He felt the popularity coming on, as he was also published in magazines and papers.
