Hotel du Nord 1838

Hans Christian Andersen moved into the Hotel du Nord in 1838, which was on the corner of Vingaardsstræde and Kongens Nytorv. Today Magasin du Nord can be found on the same place.
Hans Christian Andersen had two rooms, one for the courtyard and towards the street with a view of the Royal Theatre. He stayed there until May 13th 1847, when he went out on his first trip to England.
